unexpected battery usage? #58

see attached battery chart. I listened to an hour or so of podcast, one or
two, with BeyondPod set up to scrobble via Scrobbledroid. The battery usage of
Scrobbledroid (9%) seems to be even larger than the energy it took to play the
entire podcast (8%).

Can you think of how this could happen?

thanks,

larry

Hmm, I can't decide if that's a lot or not. I believe the audio playback will
be hardware accelerated so shouldn't use much power, so maybe that's not such a
bad result. One thing I can think of is that Scrobble Droid is not very smart
about waiting to retry when it doesn't have a network connection, so it may
waste power if you didn't have an active network connection or if you had a
weak signal.

I'm afraid I'm busy with other projects so I don't have a lot of time to devote
to Scrobble Droid at the moment. Sorry about that. There's another Scrobbling
app called "Simple Last.fm Scrobbler" which is compatible with players that use
the Scrobble Droid interface, so you might like to try that for comparison.
