Referee comment:

Third paragraph in the introduction: when discussing various methods for constrained v_3D for merging clusters the author might include the use of merger cold fronts via a comparison of the pressure at the stagnation point and in the free streaming regions (e.g. A3667, Vikhlinin et al. 2006, and several others), although the importance of projection and other systematic effects for this method are unclear.

I need to perform a bit of literature review for this comment.

Response to the referee:

I added a sentence about cold fronts to the introduction. Mach numbers based on the cold fronts will suffer similar over estimates as in the case of shocks explored by Springel and Farrar (2007) since the same basic physics are at play. So they will still only be able to provide an upper limit on the v_3D. But I did think that the referee's suggestion was good for completeness' sake.
