Unable to Log In #44

I have downloaded the v1.0.2 from the Chrome Store but my extension keeps showing the red logo and asking to log in whenever I click on it.

Clicking on the log in button it opens the wakatime website where I'm already logged in. I've tried logging out of the website and logging in again from the extension with no success. Also tried restarting chrome and even my computer, both with no success either.

Any suggestions?

For me it works on the workstation where i initially installed this but not on another one

ethaizone commented 8 years ago

Me too. Just log out once and try to log in later. It's not working. Re-install chrome extension doesn't work too.

Need to delete cookies from https://wakatime.com/ too, to signup working. After password change. Before I have only github login.

devkinetic commented 7 years ago

I had same problem as above and vysinsky's solution worked perfectly

Reauthentication helped for me - came out of WakaTime site and logged in again.

No 'Edti this cookie' extension needed - just clear cookies for wakatime.com using Chrome's Developer Tools.

I was able to reproduce this issue by using Chrome with multiple profiles set up (top right corner of the browser). If I have two Chrome windows open, signed in to separate profiles on each, and I sign into Wakatime in both then they both fail API authentication and will not track my time. Would be great to be able to have multiple sessions running without losing time tracking capabilities.

Note - it seems that pausing time tracking in one window, and resuming tracking in the other window will prevent Wakatime's connection from breaking.

Had to do your described steps @vysinsky twice for the plugin to work 😲

What I remember:

  • I was changing my account email and password recently
  • I was also changing API key for my account

Tracking from Chrome plugin not showing up at the website. How do I set which account I'm using? I'm logged into Wakatime on the same browser. No errors anywhere I can see. Plugin reports two hours spent, but nothing on the Wakatime site.
