That looks like the old ~/.wakatime.log file. The new location is ~/.wakatime/wakatime.log which might have more recent errors.

If no errors are in the new ~/.wakatime/wakatime.log file, also check your vscode dev console window for errors.

Try re-installing the extension because there aren't any errors in the logs. Maybe it failed to install correctly when updating automatically.

@alanhamlett I have the same issue with my sketch plugin..

No records for almost three weeks now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, and generated new keys, but it still doe not record any activity on Sketch.

Furthermore, the plugin status shows i have the updated 3.0.3 version, but CLI is behind. and no clear instructions on how to resolve it besides downloading the wakatime plugin.

Here is what I see: i have generated new API keys multiple times, and updated on sketch, still no heartbeat sent.

That error message invalid api key format means you need to open your ~/.wakatime.cfg file and make sure your api_key = XXXX matches exactly the one at https://wakatime.com/api-key replacing XXXX with your real api key.
