More political trait populations and what it'd look like for Lum and Hissho #1476

I want to add more political positions to pops (either 5 or 6 but it can be vary depending on what fits specfic pops) so they're a little more interesting than: Supports X, Y to X and anti Z (Z is usually oposite of X), aside from making pops more interesting this has potential to make the game more fun as if implemented properly it could empower alternative political playstyles of mayor factions. Since Waky was open to it i'm posting it here, I'm going to post mayor pop changes one or two at a time since i know changing these is likely to make people... opinionated.

Here's what that'd look like for lum which i came up with after some discussion with Sentinel: Old: Pacifist Ecologist to pacifist Anti militarist Ok so the most obvious problem here is that lore wise Lumeris are VERY ok with violence and gameplay wise encouraging lumeris not to do military is lame so anti militarist has to go. The second thing is that eco to pacifist is an extremely random trait that is also unhealthy for them to have since it makes pacifists almost impossible to overturn as their vote.

New: Pacifist Pacifist to Industrialist Pacifist to Militarist Militarist to Pacifist Militarist to ecologist

Pacifist to industrialist exists because i think it pretty clearly fits them and one of the quest lines requires industrialist because one of the families is indutrialist. Pacifist to militarist and Militarist to Pacifist is supposed to represent their complex relationship of violence and trade, this should hopefully also encourage lum players to play less vegetable while still always encouraging a pacifist playstyle. Sentinel pointed out to me that they have an ecologist route that also requires political support (one of the families is "ecologist" in that they do agriculture) and so they do need an eco trait and this is why this trait exists. Giving them pacifist to eco is a thing we can do but i think we already have enough pacifist to X and thus tying it to militarist naturally follows (i mean i wasn't about to give them indi to eco), if you need a lore explanation you can say that them being aquatic means they have a real interest in not polluting their water during war.

This may seem complicated but the end result is: If you do a pacifist action as lum you'd also get equal industrialist, militarist and pacifist support, then only the pacifist support gets boosted. If you do a militarist action you get equal parts militarist, pacifist and ecologist support. If you do actions of any other ideology (indi, eco, sci and religious) it works as normal, generating support of that ideology without an additional effect.

If you want a 6th trait for Lum i think anti religious works best as they're characterized as very pragmatic and as far as i know they never do something that could be considered religious. From a gameplay perspective this focuses their voting a little, meaning you get less "stray" random votes and more relevant votes. (For clarification purposes i'll add that anti X traits don't make a pop oposed to X, rather it makes them generate less X support than usual if you do an X action)

The other faction i wanted to bring up as an example is Hissho because since they have dictatorship and no approval it doesn't actually matter what their pop believes lol. They currently have: Militarist Religious to Militarist Anti pacifist I don't have any notes here, i'm just planning to add on top: Religious Anti ecologist and if you're up for a 6th trait anti scientist I don't think i need to explain these? they're pretty self explanatory if you know what Hissho believes.

I like this idea but it would probably be better as its own mod, generally I think the whole political system could be a bit more interesting but we don't really have enough control over it to do something interesting.

Well this is one thing we can control, pretty well too imo.
