documentation referred to unexported functions starting in ., causing errors in check. Some of these examples still have errors when called with ::: so I just commented out all these examples.
@sdgamboa: documentation isn't strictly necessary for unexported functions, but since you provide it (which is nice), make sure that the examples run.
