Bluetooth or wired microphone request. #582

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.When video recording a lecture with Glass, the sound pickup is not close
enough.
2.I would like the ability to use either a Bluetooth microphone (preferred) or
wired mic to place on lectern near the speaker.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect good audio levels, but have to boost +25db to get good levels from the
guest speaker- not the best situation..

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2-week-old Glass, I do not have the version. Using Final Cut Pro 7 to edit the
video.

Please provide any additional information below.

Thanks,
Dave

Hello,

Thanks for the report! Could you clarify what the issue is? Have you tried
pairing or plugging-in an external microphone to Glass?

Do you have a stacktrace to share that could help us identify the issue?

If this issue is not related to the platform but rather a feature request on
the product itself, I would suggest contacting your Guide (Support tab on
MyGlass) as this is the best path forward.

Thanks!
Alain

This is similar to an issue I have as well. Basically there is no way to pair
a microphone with Glass over bluetooth.

I ride a motorcycle, and Glass voice commands are unusable because of wind
noise. I have a 3D bluetooth microphone that I eliminates noise perfectly,
which I can pair with my Nexus for calls. The problem is that I can't pair it
with Glass itself and have the noise reduction benefit for voice commands; this
is the difference between being usable or not.

Being able to pair a device to be used as the mic (and speakers, for that
matter) would be a major improvement.

Would also love to know how to pair and external mic with Glass.
