Google+ Auto-Backup not working for app created images #588

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

Using the GDK do the following:

1. Use the native Camera APIs to take a photo
2. Save the photo in the DCIM directory

What is the expected output?

Expect that Auto-Backup will recognise that new photos have been created and
back them up to Google+

What do you see instead?

Photos are never backed-up to Google+. They do appear to have been recognised
by Auto-Backup because if you goto Settings > Auto-Backup > Clear the number of
photos referenced increments.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

19.1

Would love this to be fixed. An app I am building is currently blocked because
it needs to be viewable/shared outside of Glass. It doesn't make sense for the
images to be stored anywhere but the users default drive space which is Google
Auto-Backup.
