Frotz doesn't start after the update on my first generation ipod touch with 3.1.3 #194

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I'm (re)installed the Frotz from the scratch using App Store.
2. Starting Frotz.
3. Gone back to the ipod home screen after a second of Frotz splashscreen.

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?
I'd like to start some game :)

What version of Frotz are you using?
1.6 (well, it's in info profile of appstore)

What device model are you using (e.g., iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPod
Touch 3rd gen.)
ipod touch 1st gen

What version of iOS? 4.2.1, 5.1, etc.)
3.1.3

Please provide any additional information below.

Be damned the moment when I tried to update working Frotzy! Oh how much pain!

I'm afraid that it's not possible to continue to support 1st gen devices with
Frotz and also support newer devices like the iPhone 5 at the same time.
Apple requires using the latest dev tools in order to submit apps with iPhone 5
support, and these tools do not support 1st gen iPhones or iPTs.

There is a 'hack' I'm using to still support 2nd gen devices even though that's
not supported by the current dev tools either, but unfortunately it doesn't
appear to work for 1st gen devices and there's nothing I can do about it other
than forking Frotz and maintaining two separate versions. Stats show that 1st
gen device users are less than 1% of Frotz users, so I'm sorry but I just can't
justify that.

I recommend you restore Frotz 1.5.3 from a backup if possible. You can drag
Frotz.ipa back into iTunes to replace the update, then resync your device.

Allright, understood.

Seems I've lost my backup with frotz installed. May I ask you to upload 1.5.3
somewhere or just send it to me?

I'm afraid that wouldn't work. Apps downloaded from the App Store are signed
for the iTunes account which downloads them, so you wouldn't be able to install
it if I sent it to you.

Check the Trash folder (Mac) or Recycle Bin (PC) for "Frotz 1.5.3.ipa" -- if
you haven't emptied the trash since you synched, you may still have what you
need.

If not, you can send me your device's IMEI number and I *might* be able to
build a version which will work for you.
I've lost the ability to build actual apps which work on iOS 3.x, but I think I
can take an existing ad hoc build and just resign it with a profile that will
work, but I can't guarantee that because I've never done it before.

Regards,
Craig

Alas it seems I've made a backup right after the update. So I've sent you a
mail to ifrotz@gmail.com with SN and UDID. Thanks a lot for this option to try!

With best regards,
bakava

Fixed in release 1.7, now available (as soon as App Store servers update).

Thank you very much, I can confirm it's working with my ipod touch @ 3.1.3. So
cool to have frotz in my pocket!
