Contact company details are not searched #29

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a contact with the company name field populated
2. Open quickgold, and type that company name
3. Notice no relevant results

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should see my contact that belongs to that company, but instead see no results

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.1 on the Iphone

Please provide any additional information below.
Not a huge issue, but it would be nice to, say, have a list of all my
contacts from "McDonalds" or whatever the company may be.

I'm not zataang, but from my viewpoint I see a problem with that. The way
QuickGold
seems to works is that if you search for some contact information (name, phone
number, email) then you either get a numbers or a email addresses that you
searched
for, or in the case of the name you get all the numbers (and possibly email
addresses) for that search. You never get just get a plain contact.

So if you would search for a company name QuickGold would display all the
numbers and
email addresses of the contacts that belong to that company. That could be a
very
long list since you can often have more than one contact that belongs to a
company (i
often have dozens of people that belong to one company).

I think to solve this QuickGold would first need a different way of displaying
its
search results or it would need configurable search parameters.

But that's just my opinion (and since I'm not the developer it's not my problem
to
solve ;)

I think Mike's thoughts are exactly right. Won't fix this. In any case, now
company
name matching works properly as long as the contact has at least a phone OR an
email.
