New update causes Safemode #35

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed new Quickgold update
2. restart springboard
3. Phone enters safemode

My phone enters safemode right after the update. Only way to fix is to
uninstall quickgold.

i am running stock and backgrounder. Not sure if any of these causes a
conflict.

Same as albertlo18. My phone is constantly in "safe mode" after the 1.2 update
even
after reloading springboard and rebooting. Uninstalling QuickGold fixes the
problem.

I really love this app, hopefully this issue will be fixed soon. Thanks!

Identical problem here. Have had to uninstall which is a shame because this is
definitely my favorite app. Looking forward to reinstalling 1.3 tonight ;)

In terms of cause, I have lots of apps installed but the only ones that are
running
all the time would be Veency, stacks, Notifier and Backgrounder though it is not
enabled. 3G is off, SSH is off and WIFI is off not that any of that should
matter
but just in case.

I can't even get into Safe mode. Is there a way to uninstall manually via SSH?
all I
get is a spinning wheel at the apple logo.

cklinh, et al.: apt-get remove com.zataang.quickgold

That should work, but I can't test it because I'm in safe mode.

I'm also running Notifier (not running Backgrounder), Winterboard, Bossprefs,
Erica.
Not sure if any of those matter.

Winterboard
Bossprefs and Erica StatusBar notifys.
after update to 1.2 my IPHONE 2G fw 2.1 goes to safe mode....
is it possible to install the old 1.1.1 version again through cydia or with

No problem here, neither after installation nor after reboot. Firmware 2.1,
QuickGold 1.2.

Same problem.

Contents of /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries:
FileSchemaMobileSafari.dylib
FiveIconDock.dylib
QuickGold.dylib
WinterBoard.dylib
FileSchemaMobileSafari.plist
WinterBoard.plist

I'll try removing MobileSafari, but I'm not parting with WinterBoard!

I have installed v1.2.1 again. but there were still the same behavior... can
other
cydia apps interact with MobileGold?

Are you guys still encountering problems even after 1.2.2? Do you have admob
advertisements blocked using /etc/hosts? That was the cause of the crash.

I just installed 1.2.2, everything is working fine so far. Thanks for the quick
update.

I love the interface updates btw.

after update of my /etc/hosts to enable advertisements everythings working
fine...
will there be a patch for the ads used by QUICKGOLD....
because I want to use QUICKGOLD but reject ads in mobile safari too.

witch ads should be enable in the /etc/hosts for a correct working of QUICKGOLD?

many thanks for this info, I am really happy to use QUICKGOLD again.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Funny - that can't be the only reason. I had ads disabled in /etc/hosts and QG
worked fine. Just updated to 1.2.2 and now it's complaining.

If you've got mm.admob.com or r.admob.com in your hosts file, remove them. That
should be sufficient.

That's good to hear zataang as I'm still having this problem with the default
hosts file and 1.2.2.
