beta 12 will not install on iphoneOS 2.2 #78

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update to iphoneOS 2.2
2. Attempt to upgrade or install Siphon beta 12 - including a fresh copy of
the mobile provisioning file dragged to the library either before or after
Siphon.app.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is the application successfully installs.
Instead, I now consistently receive the message 'The application "Siphon"
was not installed on the iPhone "<my_iphone's_name>" because it could not
be verified."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Siphon beta 12 (no problem with versions beta 7 through 10)
iphone 3G running iphoneOS 2.2, jailbroken with quickpwn 2.2-1
itunes 8.02.20 on Windows

Please provide any additional information below.
I upgraded several things at once - the iphone OS, itunes, and the
jailbreak. I also verified the phone's UDID hasn't changed.

I double this.

Same error, now also with beta 10, which worked before iTunes/iPhone update.
Running iTunes 8.02.20 (Windows), iPhone 2G 2.2 (jb)

Yes you are not the first to tell that.
I think apple tools work less although the previous versions :-(

Hm... I have an Apple developer account but cannot access those forums.

Does this mean firmware 2.2 breaks the ad-hoc distribution method?

Perhaps it's time to consider distributing (at least for beta) through Cydia,
since
it appears to me that many posting here have jailbroken iphones anyway.

I'm posting these link to find it when I will back at home ;-) They don't
resolve
something for you directly.

This problem appears for several developers and beta testers, but there are no
answer
from Apple.
It's a bad news for every body.
I don't understand how Apple can publish a new version with this BIG bug/problem

If you have a jailbroken phone, try the "Backward Compatibility" app in Cydia.
It
seems to work for other apps. I'm not a beta tester, so I cannot test this.

Thanks - I installed the backward compatibility app and still receive the same
message.
Samuel just sent out a beta 12 bis build too - no dice.

Could be just my phone, but it appears to be in the same configuration as
others here.

Fixed in beta 13.
- All files in application must be present when you sign the application.
I added manually iTunesArtWork, after signed the application to get siphon icon
in
itunes.

- And all files in application must be present when you install.
On windows the 'dtmf-*.aif' file can not be decompress.
