As far as I know, this error happens when Poppler (the underlying PDF library)
tries to allocate more than 2 GB of memory in one chunk. I can't provide you
further assistance without seeing the PDF that triggered the error in question.

wierd separation Pages from Osnov_Delphi_7.djvu - isn't it?
no adjustment for foreground detection makes pdf2djvu often useless for
raster-embedded pdf's...

I can't reproduce it here.
What operating system, what architecture, and which version of Poppler you're
using?
(Problems with layer separation should be discuseed in issue #7, not here.)

Same problem here,
Win 7, Amd Phenom II x4 4gb ddr3 machine
libpoppler-19.dll - is that the 1.9 poppler library?
There is a newer one, 2.2 that could possibly solve the problem?

FWIW, pdf2djvu 0.7.14 for Windows includes Poppler 0.18.4.

Same issue here on a long document. Some pages triggered it up to 16 times,
others didn't trigger it at all. WinXP SP3, 0.7.14
