qmpy does not work on Python 2.7 in Ubuntu 10.10

Can you please be more specific? My primary development platform is Ubuntu 
10.10 and compiling gmpy from source should work. I don't test the versions 
included in the Ubuntu 10.10 repositories but I'll definately help with 
troubleshooting.
