Feature request for cardbook support #29

Formerly I had used the SOGO connector for TB to synchronize my contacts from owncloud to TB. However, the SOGO supports only 2 email addresses per contact, and some contact photos weren't synchronized correctly by SOGO, and thus weren't display by ldapinfo.

So I was happy that the newer cardbook addon https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/cardbook/ works better. It supports several email addresses, and shows all contact photos inside TB's cardbook address book correctly.

However, unfortunately it looks like ldapinfo doesn't "see" and evaluate the address books provided by the cardbook addon, so no contact photos are displayed in the email window, only photos retrieved from gravatar. It would be very nice if ldapinfo and cardbook could work together well since this would remove a number of limitations observed with other addons. Thanks!

Is there any chance that cardbook support is implemented?

CardBook/CardBook#71

Edit: CardBook has been moved from GitHub to GitLab and the link above does not work. Not sure which ticket it refers to now on GitLab. https://gitlab.com/CardBook/CardBook/issues/

Thank you for taking on this issue.

@wangvisual are you able to advise an update? Did you need @CardBook, developer of the CardBook add-on, to modify the CardBook add-on code to enable your add-on to work? Thank you

I would also still be very much interested in getting the two plugins work with each other.

Ldapinfo can nicely display avatars, but only from Thunderbird's native, built-in addressbook (beside LDAP).

Cardbook is the only plugin I currently know that can synchronize contacts from a CardDAV server to Thunderbird without limitations, even multiple addressbooks, but those addressbooks are not being used by ldapinfo. :-(
