pathlib is used to deal with all paths. This also includes a cross-platform rm method to cleanup files (the previous implementation raised exceptions on Windows).
with-block is used to open and close files.
shlex split is not used on Windows inside App.run (this caused issues with backslashes in paths and was unnecessary on Windows systems).
