Please provide any additional information below.
There seems to be no way to override the name of the jar file (unless I am 
overlooking something). It would be really handy to have this ability than to 
have to hack it somehow.

Hi! Inside the plugin's <configuration> tags, you can use the <filename>newfilename.jar</filename> tag to override the generated filename. There are some comments on this page with examples: http://code.google.com/p/onejar-maven-plugin/wiki/Use Thanks, Hugo
