Living Mining #47

Not exactly an issue with the extension itself but there is no where else to post.

Could you please make a more detailed tutorial for Live Mining for dummies.

I got anki connect I checked it's properly connecting but I can't figure how to configure the anki deck and the live mining options so that mining works.

Anki decks are made up of note types, card templates for those note types, and individual notes for those note types. Cards are automatically generated from notes and card templates.

Skim through this: https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual20.html#notes-&-fields

If you still have trouble after double checking anki's manual for this and messing around with anki and nazeka a little more just post again.

I somehow got it to work using the same template as core 6k (Japanese-75658) For some cards I get can't create card because it's duplicate. Is that because the same front exists in core6k? Is there a way I can bypass that?

Anki's duplicate detection is based on the first field of a note type in a given deck; this means it should be fairly unique for each word. In my test decks I use the JMdict ID as the first field. Spelling/kanji is also reasonable, but you'll run into different words with the same spelling occasionally, especially if you mine into a core deck.

I think I figured it out after messing around.

Copying the template then renaming it then renaming the first field seems to work.

Run into an issue tho Some words when copied into open reader seem to copy the wrong reading and sound for example 幸せ turns into kooun?
