Describe the solution you'd like?

iTerm2 has the ability to bury (essentially hide) panes. This is super useful for long-running persistent sessions that you don't really need to see all the time (or worse accidentally kill).

As a workaround, you could also maximize a pane as well, this will in essence "bury" the other panes. Toggle Maximize pane with CMD-SHIFT-ENTER. https://docs.warp.dev/features/windows/split-panes
