Short elaboration. In my case I'm using Operator Mono SSm as the terminal font. However, warp picks the default font weight (which is regular iirm) and this one looks a bit blurry in my case. I'd prefer to use “Book” (its a little lighter) instead. The font picker currently only allows picking the family, but not each individual weight. 😊
This has been triaged but there's no ETA. Will circle back once it's a WIP.
I see that some progress was made on this front in Warp v0.2022.07.04.09.08.stable_02
! 🎉
From the release notes:
• Added support for rendering text with a lower visual weight; enable the thin strokes option in Settings > Appearance (enabled by default for low-DPI displays)
Related would be the ability to select font widths. E.g., Iosevka has a regular width, and Iosevka Extended, which keeps the letter weights the same but adds some more space between characters. I don't see a way to do this, and I find the regular Iosevka width to be too cramped.
The terminal should at least give an option for Retina font weight (450)
The terminal should at least be tested in a 96-dpi screen before giving the ok. Most of the world runs on those and you can't expect every terminal user in the world to run a Retina display. The terminal has great functionality, but the strain in my eyes have been immense.
PLEASE let me dial back font weight, haha!
Great application ❤️
