As a workaround, you could possibly enable Mouse reporting and then hold SHIFT
while clicking on the items you want to select instead of the UP/DOWN
arrows to select.
I was able to reproduce this issue and I'll bring it up with the team. We'll post any updates on this thread.

Describe the bug
Selecting multiple files or directories with the Shift key in Midnight commander does not work.
To Reproduce
Open a terminal window, run mc, hit and hold the Shift key, hit the Arrow down key and nothing happened.
Expected behavior
It should select a file or directory like in iTerm 2 or other similar terminal emulators.

Yes, this I confirmed this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

Might be that you have in issue with mc skin. Try to change skin to "gotar". In my case without doing that, filename color does not chaging.
