The first four character of existing shell prompt are missing #4287

Describe the bug

Shell prompt based on PS1 shows as ga@sanad:~ .

To reproduce

During the initial setup, when setting up the prompt. I use bash with gnome-terminal 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04 amd64.

Expected behavior

it should be abhaga@sanad:~
