Warp not visable after update - Linux #4417

Describe the bug

I updated Warp to Release 3 and now I don't see it open. It is open but nothing is showing (on any desktop). I have closed it, rebooted, etc. As an example, I have Firefox open writing this message. If I click on Warp, I can't do anything in Firefox. Warp is on top of Firefox but I can't see anything in Warp. So, I have to click on the Firefox icon to make that the focused window.

To reproduce

Happens every time I open Warp. Ever since the update to Release 3.

Expected behavior

I should be able to see the Warp terminal, but I don't. It's there but it is like it is at 100% opacity.

Does this block you from using Warp daily?

Yes, this issue prevents me from using Warp daily.

Is this a Warp specific issue? (i.e. does it happen in Terminal, iTerm, Kitty, etc.)

Yes, this I confirmed this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

I have the same issue when I try to start warp in Ubuntu 20.04 running as a VirtualBox guest. The difference is that I don't use Wayland and I don't know if it worked in previous build because this is the first build I have tried. See also #4405 #4373 #4349

I started using Warp on Linux when it was released. I upgraded to release 2 when it came out and it ran fine. It is only when I updated to release 3 that is no longer usable.

@PremiereStoss Could run glxinfo -B and share the output so we can debug further?

keith-taylor commented 6 months ago

I also have this issue. Running Ubuntu 22.04.4 on VMWare Fusion.

alokedesai commented 6 months ago

Hey everyone, we believe the most recent version of Warp (which was released yesterday) should fix these issues. Could you check if you're still able to experience this on the most recent version of Warp? Thank you!

Not for me. Exactly as before.

keith-taylor commented 4 months ago

Is there any update on this issue?

alokedesai commented 4 months ago

@keith-taylor Could you post the output of your warp logs so we can debug further?

Same issue on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS x86_64

Shell: zsh 5.8.1

I'm not able to run output-logs because there is no UI

Issue appears in warp version 2024.08.15 (v0.2024.08.13.08.02) :x:

In the previous version works well 2024.08.08 (v0.2024.08.06.08.01) works fine :heavy_check_mark:

this is how terminal looks like when open image
