Very Slow Shell Start Times and RAM spikes on launch #4507

Describe the bug

Shell: zsh

Shell start times is too slow. It takes more than 5 seconds. At times it takes forever to load the shell, until I go ahead and click "Update Warp".

Can see a spike in RAM consumption on launch, makes all the cooling fans ON just for a shell launch.

My native mac terminal launches with zero lag every single time, and never turned my fans on!

The features offered by warp become an overkill with slow startup times. I am second guessing this modded terminal now.

To reproduce

Just open Warp

Does this block you from using Warp daily?

Yes, this issue prevents me from using Warp daily.

Is this a Warp specific issue? (i.e. does it happen in Terminal, iTerm, Kitty, etc.)

Yes, this I confirmed this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

Hi @saileshsahu, very sorry for the issues you're experiencing.

If you temporarily comment out the entire contents of your .zshrc file, are the shell start times resolved? One theory is that there's something within your RC files that seems to causing Warp to take a long time to start.
