Rearrange / drag tabs/panes into windows and vice-versa #466

Open nipunn1313 opened 2 years ago

nipunn1313 commented 2 years ago

Describe the bug

Similar to #58 - would love to use drag-and-drop to convert tabs into windows and vice versa.

Open to other UI mechanism ideas - but drag-and-drop is the one I'm used to for this functionality. Something in cmd-p or in the tab menu could work too.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to '...'
  2. Click on '...'
  3. Scroll down to '...'

I'd love to have this feature! I change around my monitor resolution and orientation occasionally so being able to change my warp tab vs window layout helps a bunch for quickly transitioning between layouts.

lkm-schulz commented 4 months ago

Any update on whether this is planned and will be added soon? It's a common feature in many tab-based interfaces I've gotten very used to.

Any update on this very common UI feature request (found in iTerm, Terminal, Finder, Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc.)? I hope it's clear that this is a different UI feature than the rearranging panels feature mentioned in #623.

Is there any update on this this is only the reason stopping to use Warp on my day-to-day activities.

Same here, I used Warp for a while, loved a lot of the features but found it too hard to work without a flexible tab-to-window functionality. Now using iTerm2 again.

I'm also back to using iterm2 as I really need this functionality.

Absolutely batshit this doesn't exist. I love Warp but come on.
