1 year ago I believe Android 8+ displays the app's icon within a circle having a white background, but I haven't seen what Android 13 does.. with respect to theming.
Is your screenshot showing Android 13 w/ "Settings > Themed Icons" enabled?
update:
- after briefly reading up on "Themed Icons", I see they are monochromatic.. where the "white" portions (which are probably transparent) are colored by the system based on the wallpaper.. so that's not it
- the reason I'm asking.. is because I want to be able to reproduce this issue.. so I can verify that my next build has fixed it.. but the phone I'm tinkering with now shows this icon in a shape (based on: "Home settings > Change icon shape") having a white background
- I'm guessing that different OEMs implement this differently..
so, what was the environment used to take this screenshot?
(ie: make/model of phone, name/version of OS, type of launcher.. OEM vs. 3rd-party, etc)- I'll test out a few different devices tomorrow..
Please use an adaptive icon.
