The "F1" key should bring up the help, as this is a pretty standard setting
in almost all programs.

This is a good idea.  However, seeing as how we currently have no local-machine 
Help
system, this will need to wait for awhile.

Retitling this issue to cover the fact that we need a built-in Help system too. 
Hitting F1 to bring it up will essentially be an implementation detail.
