What:

Why

• Visual programming eliminates syntax errors
• All the blocks can be found through exploration, rather than memorizing or looking up programming constructs and libraries
• Code can be more approachable and friendly for beginners
• Blocks can be localized into various languages
• Blocks can be used to express programming idioms at different levels of abstraction and do not have to map 1:1 with the underlying language
• Pedagogically, blocks can be introduced gradually, building up a language over multiple lessons

What kind of softwares / libraries do you recommend for this?

I'm not up to speed with what the best screen capture software is, and I think it depends on what platform you're on. For Mac you can use the built-in quicktime to capture the screen, but it doesn't do fancier things like picture-in-picture to show both the narrator and the screen simultaneously.
