@mwpark2014 do you know if this would be feasible on mobile? Seems like this could be an issue since you made a ticket regarding the globe being an issue for mobile.
@ri0nardo The ticket regarding the globe being an issue for mobile is only for a subset of low-end devices. The idea is to check the performance of the device somehow and fall back to "low graphics settings" if the device can't handle the globe.
As for if this is feasible on mobile in general - I think it's feasible but I think it might be a medium difficulty task depending on the type of animation and if mapbox supports whatever we end up wanting to do out of the box (a static image moving laterally across the screen seems doable)

Would be an Easter egg where the outer space from time to time will have a object appear. Would not be common unless there is an event for a time period.
