@jazhen what is the best format to export the logo? and does the file size matter? SVG or PNG or other?
@ri0nardo - TLDR: Most major modern websites seem to use SVG, so SVG seems like a good way to go.
It seems like for other images, such as those on our contact page or even the tree image we show when clicking on a tree WebP is better than PNG/JPG.
Contact page:
According to https://web.dev/serve-images-webp/, a Google-owned website
YouTube found that switching to WebP thumbnails resulted in 10% faster page loads. Facebook experienced a 25-35% filesize savings for JPEGs and an 80% filesize savings for PNGs when they switched to using WebP.
However, through my own unscientific investigation I have noticed that > 75% of the websites I have check use SVG for their logo, with the rest being PNG. web.dev, where the above came from, uses SVG for their logo itself.
Also, see https://web.dev/choose-the-right-image-format/ for some more info.
From my research, I've compiled a list of websites and what file format they use for their logos.

Other: None so far
Agreed upon Halloween Logo for 2022. Favicon to be discussed.
@ri0nardo Do we want to keep this issue open forever? or should I close? I personally love Chinese New Year and Easter... (bring on the dragons and bunnies!) Those are culture specific. What are the Biggest holidays from each continent? Do we want those? Should we just build them all out and auto-swap with a calendar/timer? @Tijani-zainab
@zoobot depends if we want to continue with these themed logos and favicons. I don't mind creating the graphics from time to time. If we want to continue with the logos and favicons, we should pick a few and cycle through them.
Oh, I think auto-swap sounds interesting we just have to keep up with the theme and holidays we are repping @zoobot
Yeah, I think we should ! @ri0nardo
Note: Anyone is welcomed to add more information regarding the topic. Any idea will be considered.
Since we are aiming for Christmas / Holiday season to add in the animation of flying objects onto the map background. Would be a good idea to enhance other features for that season. With the "Water the Trees" Text we can make it more seasonal, and possibly enhance the tree icon that exist.
