Electricity metering #8

Can you add support for passing electricity meter usage data through... https://www.ecobee.com/home/developer/api/documentation/v1/objects/Electricity.shtml I have a SmartSI with the zigbee module connected to my smart meter, so I can test this out for you.

I thought about doing this just a month or two ago, and emailed Ecobee regarding the ZigBee module showing as discontinued on their online shop, and whether my new smart meter would work with Ecobee. I received complete silence in response.

But even without their help, it seemed relatively straightforward to make new Vera device(s) that represent the meter(s) that the API is reporting on. That way, your smart meter can participate in Vera's energy monitoring using the Ecobee+plugin as the gateway.

I am pretty busy these days, but I do plan on adding this feature soon. Maybe even Ecobee will some day reply to me and I could use it myself (if my smart meter/utility is supported).

I only bought my zigbee module a month ago - I was pretty skeptical as it wasnt easy to find the link. It seems like its still available - the store link is https://store.nexternal.com/ecobee/storefront/zigbee-module-p24.aspx It was easy to install with the instructions here http://www.ecobee.com/wp-content/themes/ecobee/etc/smartPlug_a4_april9.pdf and it synced to my meter within a couple of minutes. The ecobee website doesnt show current usage, it promises to show predicted bill in home iq - but nothing there yet. So the only data is on the thermostat screen itself, so it would be great to get the data in vera.
