ClassCastExceptions #5

3.12 is unusable for me because I get ClassCastExceptions when clicking on basically any button.

Not really sure what's going on here... in both cases, there should be no problem casting those objects, so my assumption is that it's something prior to this which is causing the problem (such as, not being able to pull the current panel from the SidePanelHolder). I have wrapped both in a try-catch to try combatting the problem, although think it'll require more in-depth investigation.

As a side suggestion, would like to see what happens if you revert all your XML files back to their original states, in case it's being caused by a bad Setting or a bad Interface change. So would be very curious to know if it still fails the same after resetting everything in the interface and settings directories back to the originals.
