[Feature Request] Allow opening Smart Notes without creating new note or attaching current site #1421

Wavebox: 10.115.15-2 stable
Install Method: tar (Flatpak)
Wire Config: 1.2.17
Chromium: 115.0.5790.98
OS: linux/undefined

The Smart Notes is very useful and convenient. However, I would like for an option to open Smart Notes without creating new notes, as well as an option to create a new note without attaching the current site.

Ideally, there could be a setting to choose what does Left Click and Middle Click does by default. Left click to go to last opened Smart Notes without creating a new one, and middle click to create new note with current page attached, would make a lot of sense as defaults.

At minimum, I would like for them to be added as options in right click menu:

(Also, should I create a Feature Request support ticket as well, for better tracking, or is just making request / bug reports on GitHub enough/better?)

Hi, I'll send this along to the team. You can also add Smart Notes as its own app through the app store - this would let you drop in and out of it without creating new notes or attaching the current site; just search Wavebox Smart Notes when you're adding an app 👍

Oh, that helps. Thanks for the info on adding the Smart Notes as app.

@Thomas101 Is there a similar option for to-do? I tried choosing Copy Link to Widget but the link leads to popout widget option (https://wavebox.io/intent/popoutwidget?widgetId=<omitted>&width=577&height=410)

Not at the moment. Sticky notes always live within a workspace, so we don't have a way of adding a single one as an app. Can I ask a little bit more information about your use case?

@Thomas101 I used to use Joplin for my To-Do, basically opens it to my To-Do as my quick "what needs to get done this week," while I have a separate notes for details and other projects I handle.

Personally, I would be pretty okay if the tasks from each Tasks widget appears as a note on Smart Notes or something, and I can pin it to the top. This way, I could start Wavebox to that Tasks in my Smart Notes, which would still be up-to-date to the widget version (which itself is useful as a constant reminder every time I open a new tab).
