Turning Off Cast in Android/iOS Netflix App Does Not Return Chromecast To Home Screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open the Netflix app on an Android or iOS device.

2. Tap the cast icon and choose the Chromecast device, which will open the 
Netflix window in Chromecast on the television screen.

3. Tap the cast icon again, and choose the Android or iOS device.

What is the expected result?

Chromecast returns to its home screen on the television screen.

What do you see instead?

Chromecast remains on the Netflix screen on the television screen. 

What version of the product are you using?

Chromecast build 12940
First generation Nexus 7 tablet (newest Android OS update)
Fourth generation iPod Touch (newest iOS update)

Please provide any additional information below.
When performing similar steps with Google Play and Youtube, Chromecast returns 
to its home screen on the television screen.
