Make chain gap dynamic #234

Noticed this when testing w/ the data in #233. If users provide a segment size of 500, they likely don't want to chain through 40 missed segments.

I wonder if we should set a max value at 20 kbps for the default behavior, as it is not rare to use a segment size of 10/20kbps.
