Some displays require this as brightness might get reset after switching from SDR to HDR mode or back.

Originally posted by **ttrnwcz** November 2, 2023 Would it be possible to have the brightness setting updated (either sent as the default value or read from the display, if supported) whenever the HDR mode is switched? I'm usually running my display in sRGB compatible mode and switch to HDR as needed. The default hardware brightness for HDR is 100% and around 50% in SDR mode (my display supports DCC dimming in HDR mode). Whenever I make the switch the value stays at the previous mode's level and afterwards gets sent upon wake or unlocking making the brightness either halved or doubled.
