More DEM sources #269

I don't know how easy it is to incorporate but there is a 50 m resolution DEM available for Sweden under ccby4 (the "GSD-Höjddata, grid 50+" data set).

Anyone how moves north of 60 deg in Sweden would be very grateful if it was :)

Changes to the DEM for purposes of elevation computation and/or hillshading will only happen if somebody creates a ready-to-use archive. I don't see that I will ever find the time to look into that myself.

The above mentioned Sonny-source https://github.com/waymarkedtrails/waymarked-trails-site/issues/404 are ready-to-use. They are downloadable for most of European area, and have exactely the same .hgt format as the used SRTM/ASTER files.

Situation right now, for example: "Johannesweg" https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/3340346 Has a real elevation sum of ca. 3000 m. Waymarkedtrails says only 1080 m. This is not only completely wrong but also misleading for people who are taking WMT's sums as at least approximate values to plan a hiking tour.

The situation hasn't really changed since 2021, I don't have time to prepare the data. waymarkedtrails needs the appropriate shape files covering the entire world. When using an elevation model with a higher resolution, it might even be necessary to rethink the storage format because the whole dataset really shouldn't be growing to something larger than 50GB.

Also, last time I checked, Sonny had a very relaxed attitude towards licenses. Thus some additional work is needed to verify the legal status before use.
