The version 1.5 is considered unsupported by Richard and is replaced by
mupen64plus 1.99.x/2.0. The new version (1.99.x) of the input plugin has
autoconfiguration and supports at least the PS3 gamepad. I never used the PS3
remote for gaming input and doubt that it was intended to be used that way.

I used the version 1.5 together with a PS3 gamepad and only noticed that you
have to press the "PS" button at the center of the gamepad before it will send
any events.

Please test your PS3 remote with SDLJoytest [1] from the download page, write a
configuration for the new input plugin [2] and send this information to
mupen64plus@googlegroups.com

How did you install it? How do you expect it to shows itself? What does
following command show:

$ find / -name mupen64plus -type f 2> /dev/null

Do you know that mupen64plus is now a library and the core distribution has
only a commandline interface?
