we've had a number of issues where people don't understand what the hostname is
used for. we should have some text that explains that the hostname is the ip
that the phone and browser will use to connect to aggregate.

As it stands currently, the text reads:

"ODK Aggregate needs to know the fully-qualified hostname and port numbers
through which it can be reached in order to construct links back to its content
when publishing or exporting data files. If the hostname of the machine running
Apache Tomact is 'pc101' and your organization is 'opendatakit.org', then
'pc101.opendatakit.org' is likely the fully-qualified hostname for that
machine."

Other than the oversight of not mentioning the impact on ODK Collect, can
someone take a whack at making it read more cleanly?

how about this...

"ODK Aggregate needs to know the fully-qualified hostname and port numbers
through which it can be reached in order to construct links back to its content
when publishing or exporting data files. In general, using the publicly
accessible IP address of the machine you will be hosting ODK Aggregate on will
be adequate."
