menu button during YouTube exists Front Row #161

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Add Youtube feed from clipboard.
http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/videos/-/boxster?client=ytapi-youtube-browse
&v=2

What is the expected output or result?
Apple remote 'menu' button returns view to previous menu listing in Front Row.

What do you see instead?
Front Row closes.

Please provide any additional information below, including any relevant
URLs. If there is a crash report in [HOME]/Library/Logs/CrashReporter then
please attach it.

If you browse the new feed without playing a video you are able to use the
'menu' button on Apple remote control to return to Understudy menu. If you play
a clip and then use the 'menu' button Front Row closes.

This issue occurs with any youtube feed, regardless of origin. I have added
feeds using the default system and it still crashes every time I press the menu
button during a video. This should be escalated to a high priority since the
end effect is you have to restart frontrow after every video you watch.

The original report and Comment 1 seem to differ on whether this is a crash, or
if the menu button is causing Front Row to exit (cleanly). Can either of you
confirm (preferably with a crash report if it is crashing)?

It closes the Front Row WITHOUT crashing.

Sorry, yes it exits cleanly, but it is supposed to return to the feed menu when
you click "menu" not close frontrow.

Video of bug in action. Note that you need to forward 20 seconds into the clip.
Sorry did not know how to trim the first 19 seconds.

Same for me. Pressing (menu) button during video playback closes frontrow.
happens since latest MacOS update to 10.6.5.

I wasn't able to reproduce this until (as mentese mentioned) upgrading to
10.6.5, so there may be a couple separate issues. In any case, we're working to
find a fix.

I believe the issue of You Tube videos dropping out of Front Row is fixed in
the 0.09 release.
