A friend recommended that I look at http://opensourceecology.org/ and https://www.thingiverse.com/. I'm not sure of the relevance, and he wasn't either but figured I'd jot it down in this note.

We need parts, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies at a minimum. Would people want vendor comparison/registration for components too?
