tar: Unrecognized archive format:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Ran the build-all.sh

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the script to execute but instead I received the following error:

tar: Unrecognized archive format: Inappropriate file type or format
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using the most recent version on mac os x 10.6.8.

Please provide any additional information below.

I had this problem. It was caused because the download location for c-ares has 
changed (the website now has a /download/ before the archive name). Changing 
that fixed that issue, but I'm now I'm having problems with libetpan's 
configure.ac file.
