/base/_reset.scss hasn't been updated in a while (and seems to have been based on Meyer's CSS reset from 2011), so mey be a bit outdated, and @burntcustard thinks there's a few oddities and/or unnecessary rules, like <ins> getting a background color reset (to #ff9, that's not used anywhere else? And it gets cssstats.com to report an extra color 😟), but <del> not getting a background color reset.
A new _reset.scss was created in ff19d72d9a6285f84eeaaf2f32314b3bfd136935 - it might require further tweaking, but it's a good (much simpler and no longer ye-oldy-IE supporting!) start.
