You don't have to justify fixing a typo :)
Could you remove the extra detail in the commit message? Otherwise I'll keep wondering what that ...
is every time I look the commit log over.
:) Sure thing. Yeah, the only reason I justify it is because in the past I've run into issues were something I think is wrong or a typo is actually correct in UK English but not American English. So I'm careful not to make presumptions.

No problem. I pretty much always use American English in order to be consistent, at least in my code and commit messages.
I'm using the following guidelines:
"Use an before a word that starts with a vowel sound. If it does not start with a vowel sound, use a."
