There is a plugin capability within go - basically dynamic link libraries. Main limitation appears to be that the build environment needs to be the same between the main process and the plugin.

Going to give hashi-corp go-plugins a try

Defined by go interfaces
use gRPC to communicate
Can't crash the main process
