Nice suggestion. I am hyped for this talk.
A few years ago Tim Schade made a talk about the same topic at Java User Group in Augsburg and it was very interesting.
Nice suggestion. I am hyped for this talk.
Same here ✋🏻
Uuh nice, thanks for the feedback! It could be that December is a bit too soon since we are in the middle of experimenting and learning in our company regarding that topic. So please get in touch if it's considered for one of the next meetups :) It might work out, or we'll postpone another month but we really really wanna share our learnings.
Title: Green Software Development
Short description
The industry we work in (Big Tech) is responsible for 4% of the global emissions (which is more than the aviation sector) - with a strong tendency to increase in the upcoming years. In this talk we would like to show where we as software people have a chance to reduce emissions, where it does not make sense at all and that it is all about mindset (of course, it is always the mindset but we did that already with clean code and agile, right? :D )
Audience
Everyone working in the tech, communication and digitization industry (yes, even non techies -> PO, UX, Coaches, ..).
