Uploading a class roster takes a non-trivial amount of time, but the modal dialog doesn't provide any indication of this (such as disabling buttons or providing a spinner of some sort).
It also doesn't appear to refresh the table correctly when the modal is dismissed -- the page needs to be refreshed manually.
