Team arrived at consensus on the investigation areas for inclusion in 2024
Finalize naming for proposed focus areas
foolip raised the question on consistency in naming of focus areas
Consensus: for focus areas scoped to one feature or property - match the focus area name with the MDN naming. For grouped feature areas, naming should provide enough clarity.
Finalize the test list for proposed focus areas
As per the suggestion from jensimmons and nt1m, general agreement was reached on labeling all tests for a given area and then discussing exceptions,if need be. jgraham also suggested not including things that are already interoperable.
Next steps:
Organizations will share the labels internally and get feedback ahead of the next meeting.
foolip raised the question on inclusion of crash tests. Issue filed to get feedback.
Next steps for drafting of proposal responses
Next steps:
Organizations will review the responses and make a note of the ones they disagree with, for discussion next week.
Dashboard updates
DanielRyanSmith shared a mockup of the dashboard for feedback
jensimmons: Focus areas from the past iterations should be included. But no reason to have a cumulative score for investigation efforts. Can also omit the scores for past investigation efforts.
jensimmons: Has anyone from Microsoft weighed in on the Canary vs Dev difference?
dandclark: We’ve talked about it, there are some challenges getting Edge Canary results, won’t have that in time. It’s a time lag, and that’s acceptable for us.
jgraham: Looks like we’re double-counting some areas under Layout. Not a lot of value in showing previous investigations. Color scheme needs to be updated.
Next steps
Addition of investigation areas since they have been finalized in this meeting
Finalize a color scheme for the scores (zcorpan, bkardell and meyerweb provided suggestions)
