@emilio Thanks for the report. I was able to reproduce the issue. Upon scrolling the page and reaching the animated element, scrolling back-up, or scrolling in the element area (attempting to move the element in the slider for example) causes screen flickering:

screen flickering2

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 99.1.1 (2015871915-🦎99.0-20220330194208)/ Firefox Nightly 101.0a1 (2015874219 -🦎101.0a1-20220410065930🦎)/ Chrome Mobile Version 100.0.4896.79 Operating System: Samsung A51 (Android 11) -1080 × 2400 pixels 20:9 aspect ratio (~405 ppi density) Operating System: Google Pixel 3 (Android 12) -1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (~443 ppi density)

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome.

Moving this to NeedsDiagnosis for further investigations.

Ah, this happens on desktop as well and it's due to async image decoding. They could fix it with decoding=sync.

The issue is still reproducible.
