The issue has been moved to the relevant project. Please see: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=28181 for future updates and workarounds.

Why was this issue moved to the Pale Moon forum? The issue is not with the browser as I understand it. The issue is with the Alphabet-owned web site using draft/experimental features. Exactly the incompatibility issues this team is hoping to solve?

@Ben-Fenner Our team focuses on several browsers. Pale Moon does not have direct contact with our project, so it is very difficult for us to diagnose and fix issues for a browser that we do not have access to or know any internals of the source code. As you can see in the submitted issue (moved), there is nothing from the browser's side that can be done, so the representatives of the browser should contact the page owner. Issues related and reproducible using Pale Moon will still be redirected there. Our project is based, amongst other things, on collaboration. We do not own all the browsers, unfortunately, but we do have contacts for most of the browsers out there.

Thank you for the response. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you don't have access to the browser (it's freely downloadable) or the source code (the project is open source). I'm also not sure what you mean about not having direct contact with the developers, as their support forum is a good form of direct contact. That aside, I'm not sure why it is a Pale Moon problem, when the web site in question is using draft/experimental features with no polyfill. Is that not what this team aims to help with? Why wouldn't contacting Alphabet/Google to have them fix their web site be the next move?

softvision-raul-bucata commented 2 years ago

@Ben-Fenner When an issue is reproducible, our team contacts the site owner where the compatibility issue has been observed (with solutions to the problem). We do not have anyone in our team from the Pale Moon browser, thus contacting a site on their behalf is impossible at the moment ( we can not represent who we do not represent if that makes sense). Imagine you are working for a company, but you are trying to solve the problems of another company that is not even affiliated with your company. We do not have engineers for all the browsers, but we gladly collaborate with them (where possible).

I see. Thank you again for the informative reply. Of course I understand the situation, but I guess I was under the wrong impression about the scope of this project. I thought it was browser agnostic. My mistake.
